The Triumph Sprint ST - English Sport Tourer

The BikesThe Triumph Sprint ST is a superb example of a used motorcycle. So fantastic is its condition, without the need to look at the registration papers or checking the amount of kilometers it has done, you'd have to examine it very closely to find any clues to it ever having being ridden. Only tiny details like the discs and tires showing signs of use are giveaways to the Triumph having done any serious kilometers at all. It's fair to describe it as utterly immaculate.

Riding a 2007 Triumph Sprint ST reveals the experience as an 'as new' one too. Nothing about the way this brilliant sports tourer covers ground feels any different from a brand new, zero kilometer version.

Actually that's not completely true as one of the additions made by the previous owner did alter the handing of the Triumph Sprint ST a little, and made it seem a bit ponderous until I was used to it. As useful as the cavernous top box is, its weight and lofty position on the motorcycle raised the center of gravity enough to alter the Triumph Sprint ST's famed neutrality a little.

Bar that, there was nothing to differentiate it from any of the new Triumph Sprint ST motorcycles I've ever had the pleasure of riding over recent years. In my opinion it's easily the best motorcycle in the sports tourer class and welcomes you to travel far and wide on it from the second you grab its handlebars and nestle into its seat.

Once more familiar with the Triumph Sprint ST, the way the motorcycle can progress with such a planted and secure feel is really reassuring. It's a motorcycle you can really trust to stay on line, unflustered even by quite serious ruts and potholes. Suspension quality is good if feeling very slightly under-damped at times, and the ABS brakes are never short of power or the feel to use them confidently. The Triumph is a mighty motorcycle on a mission it always seems to accomplish in typical English style and composure.
