The Kawasaki Verys, Boring Bike?

The BikesSome people, who very likely haven't ridden it, tell me that the Kawasaki Versys is boring. They absolutely wrong. Okay, 60 horsepower doesn't impress much people, but it has a fun, quirky character. And to prove it makes any trip fun I visited some friends today, they live just before Korat and the distance is a good first day trip on my brand new Kawasaki Versys.

You see, today is the day that I picked up my brand new Kawasaki Versys from the dealer in Pattaya, Thailand. The road to Korat is not that difficult and I know the way, I even know a few gravel roads I want to explorer. This gravel roads were once the main connection between towns in the area, before the black tarmac highway take all traffic away, now this gravel roads are the emptiest roads in Thailand with now-and-than a scooter sized motorcycle or a farmer on a self-build vehicle as obstacle.

Luckily, the gravel roads aren't boring at all. It's perfect Kawasaki Versys territory – a couple of twisty kilometers, a reasonable surface and a few good 90 degree corners. On the way home I will have to skip this gravel road, and stick to the main road, in the evening it's just to dangerous for me to ride on this sort of road.

So the Kawasaki Versys boring, not think so. It's a marvelous machine and it's a shame that Kawasaki Thailand didn't introduced it sooner. The 649cc parallel twin in combination with the good suspension is excellent for riding around Thailand, even it you a bit more adventurous then me.
